A Dream Worth Believing In: Student-Athlete Triquil Monroe's Journey

For Triquil Monroe, the path to college began with a dream—and a mother determined to make sure her son knew that dream mattered.
Raised by a single mother of four, Triquil understood the sacrifices she made for her children. She worked hard to provide for her family while reminding them that their circumstances did not have to define their futures.
One of Triquil's dreams was to attend DePaul Catholic High School. For his family, however, tuition put that opportunity out of reach. A scholarship from Tri-County Scholarship Fund helped change that.
At DePaul Catholic, Triquil distinguished himself both in the classroom and on the football field. A strong student and dedicated athlete, he became a leader on the football team, earning first-team all-county honors and serving as team captain.
“Tri-County believed in me and gave me the chance to build the future I always dreamed of.”–Triquil

Today, Triquil is a junior at Muhlenberg College, where he is majoring in biology and continuing his football career. In 2025, he earned All-Centennial Conference honorable mention recognition—a reflection of the determination and work ethic that have shaped his journey as a student-athlete.
Triquil's story is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a motivated student is given access to opportunity.
For 45 years, Tri-County donors have helped students like Triquil attend safe, quality, values-based schools where they are challenged, encouraged and given the opportunity to discover their strengths.
The scholarship begins with tuition assistance. Its impact reaches much further—giving students the freedom to dream bigger and pursue futures once thought out of reach.
That is Freedom through Education.

reach high for their dreams.
