Ways to Give

A Vision that Keeps Giving

The Trustees  have developed a plan for Tri-County’s future that includes a vision of where the Fund should be in the years to come. You and other donors are the reason that the vision of providing access to a quality, values-centered education to children is successful. To maintain that excellence, we need your continued support, especially in the area of planned gifts.

Legacy

Since 1981

The Hennessy Rodimer Legacy Society is a charitable planned giving instrument. It is named in honor of the two founders of Tri-County Scholarship Fund, Edward L. Hennessy and the late Most Rev. Frank J. Rodimer, emeritus Bishop of Paterson. They began the fund in

1981 as a way to give a future and a hope to the area’s most economically vulnerable children.  More than 32,000 scholarships later, the need is greater than ever.

Bequest from Your Will

Including Tri-County Scholarship Fund in your will or trust is a meaningful way to help us continue to help financially disadvantage New Jersey students get the tuition assistance they need to attend safe, values-centered, accredited private schools.

Retirement Assets

Retirement assets are one of the most beneficial gifts you can give to Tri-County Scholarship Fund. These funds grow tax-free until the time of withdrawal. With the innovative use of these assets, you are able to contribute generously to TCSF as well as provide for your loved ones. Many taxes on these plans can be avoided or reduced through a carefully planned charitable gift.TCSF can be named as a beneficiary, co-beneficiary or contingent beneficiary of your Individual Retirement Account (IRA), Keogh Plan 401(K), 403(b) or other qualified pension plan.

Life Insurance

Life insurance may be a means to make a much larger gift than you thought possible. TCSF can be named as a beneficiary, co-beneficiary or a successor beneficiary to receive the proceeds in the event the primary beneficiary is no longer living.

Charitable Remainder Trust

A Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) is a life-income arrangement that provides you and/or other beneficiaries with a stream of income for life or for a period of years. After the trust terminates, the principal, or “remainder interest,” goes to TCSF. Unlike other life-income arrangements, CRTs are separately invested and managed trusts. Please note that the TCSF does not manage these trusts for donors.
