Two Nuns to Receive the Tri-County Scholarship Fund Making a Difference award at October 20 dinner
Two nuns will receive the Tri-County Scholarship Fund Making a Difference award at the Fund’s annual dinner on October 20. They are Sisters Jo-Ann and Patricia Pompa, MPF. The award is given each year to individuals that are truly making a difference in the lives of those they serve.
The Tri-County 33rd Annual Awards dinner, one of the largest non-profit fundraising dinners in New Jersey, will also feature FOX news commentator and best-selling author Bill O’Reilly. The MC will be Emmy Award-winning author and TV personality Steve Adubato, Jr.
Sr. JoAnn Pompa has been the principal of St. Gerard Majella School in Paterson since 2001 and Sr. Patricia has been the principal of Villa Walsh Academy in Morristown since 1990. The two nuns are blood sisters, and have forged a relationship between their two schools: one, an inner-city K-8 haven where Tri-County gives, on average, thirty scholarships each year; and the other, a private 7-12 girl’s academy.
Said Gregory Floyd, President of Tri-County: “We are delighted to recognize the service that Sisters Jo-Ann and Patricia have given to generations of young people. They are both models of selfless dedication and their advocacy on behalf of children and young women is a model for all to follow.”
