33rd Annual Awards Dinner
Bill O’Reilly, famous news personality and author, will be the honoree at the Tri-County Scholarship Fund’s 33rd annual awards dinner. The dinner will take place on October 20th at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany, New Jersey.
O’Reilly is the anchor of the O’Reilly Factor, the #1 ranked cable news program in total viewers for 50 consecutive quarters. The O’Reilly Factor has a viewership of 2.83 million viewers. He is also the author of the best-sellers Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy and Killing Jesus. His book Killing Patton is due out in the Fall.
Along with Mr. O’Reilly, two nuns who are sisters will also be honored: Sr. Jo-Ann Pompa, principal of St. Gerard Majella School in Paterson and Sr. Patricia Pompa, principal of Villa Walsh Academy in Morristown.
The mission of Tri-County Scholarship Fund is to provide financial support to deserving and economically disadvantaged children, regardless of race, religion or national origin, so they can obtain a quality, values-centered education through accredited private elementary and secondary schools. Proceeds from the dinner fund these scholarships.
In areas where 50% of children don’t graduate from high school, children with Tri-County scholarships have a 98% graduation rate, and the same percentage go on to college. In the past four years, Tri-County scholarship recipients have been accepted to Colgate, Cornell, Rutgers, Georgetown, UCLA, Villanova, Columbia, NYU and Notre Dame, most on full scholarships.
